About us
Dugi otok is an island in the Adriatic Sea, which belongs to the Zadar archipelago of northern islands. Debt is ca. 50 km, 4,6 km wide and has about 1,700 residents. The island is 113.3 km2, and the length of 44.5 km. The island has eleven villages located along the island: Sali, Zaglav, Zman, Luka, Savar, Brbinj, Dragove, Bozava, Soline, Verunic and Veli Rat. The biggest village is Sali which is also the administrative center of the island.
Dugi otok is widely famous for its natural attractions: Nature Park Telascica, sandy beach Sakarun, Veli Rat lighthouse are just some of them. Telascica Park and Sakarun are protected parts of the island, in the vicinity of the southern part of the island is National Park Kornati. The island is full of many natural sandy and rocky beaches that take your breath away.
Zman is located in the bay called Zmancica, surrounded by hills Gracine, Veliki Slotnjak and Mali Slotnjak. It is mentioned in the 13th century under the name Mezano, and from that time dates the parish church of St. John, while in the vicinity of the village there are sites from the prehistoric era.
Zman is exceptional due to its fertile fields located in the area of Malo jezero and Veliko jezero, which makes the people from Zman highly skilled farmers. The locals will be happy to offer their guests the fruits of their hands; a taste of local wine, cheese and olive oil will certainly be remembered by all lovers of good food.
